Regional Health Clinic Celebrates National Health Center Week
HAMMOND, IN – Regional Health Clinic celebrates National Health Center Week August 15 – 16 at its Hammond locations with low-cost back-to-school and sports physicals, and free health screenings and haircuts. The two-day event highlights the resources provided by community health centers like Regional Health Clinic that help community members prepare for the start of school.
This year the theme is “Celebrating America’s Health Centers: The Key to Healthier Communities.”
In addition to providing no-cost screenings for dental, HIV, depression, and anxiety, the clinic will also host the Hammond Police Department, the Hammond Fire Department, the American Red Cross, Indiana HIP, the North Township Trustee, and several Geminus education and community programs such as Geminus Head Start, Geminus Prevention Services and Geminus Community Partners.
“Our community partnerships play a key role in helping us achieve positive health and mental health outcomes for our patients,” said Sherry Oman, executive director of Regional Health Clinic. “They are an integral part of building stronger communities and maintaining a comprehensive continuum of integrated care.”
One in every 15 Americans depends on community health centers for high quality cost effective accessible health care. Regional Health Clinic provides care to nearly 4,000 people in Lake County, Indiana regardless of their ability to pay.
